Case Richardson Law was set up to provide legal services in the complex and demanding areas of mental health and mental capacity law. We are committed to the rights of detained patients, their families, and carers. We are fiercely proud of our roots as a law firm which was set up to protect the rights of ordinary people.
Our values define what we stand for, how we approach our work, how we think and how we behave. They are our commitment to our clients and to those we work with.
We are known for our purposeful and progressive thinking.
Our values drive our work and hold us to account. We set ourselves the same high
standards regardless of whether our clients are individuals with a relatively
straightforward issue, or public bodies keen to get the law right and make
the right decisions.
We combine sensitivity to our clients’ needs with a determination to ensure their interests are protected.
We act for clients across the Northeast of England, and we are able to visit clients at
short notice.
Our specialist mental health lawyers are available to advise those who are subject to
the Mental Health Act, their family members, and carers on all aspects of access to
treatment and challenging detention in hospital.
We are also available to accept instructions in relation to Court of Protection matters
either privately or via legal aid if you satisfy the requirements for free legal aid.
Please contact us in the first instance to book your appointment for further information.
We have a contract with the Legal Aid Agency for mental health and this means that
we are able to provide free advice and representation in relation to Mental Health Tribunals and assistance with Hospital Managers’ meetings where patients are
detained under the Mental Health Act. We are also able to advise and represent clients in relation to Court of Protection matters.
You may be eligible for legal aid but there are circumstances where you will not qualify. Please contact us for assistance in the first instance.
